Why I understand this from the inside.

Domestic abuse counselling Epping — specialist support for survivors with BACP registered counsellor Lynda Dorbin

I know what it’s like to stay in a relationship out of fear, shame, and concern for those around you. I know how emotional abuse slowly erodes your confidence — until you can’t trust your own perception of what’s real. It was counselling that helped me find my way out, and that experience is at the heart of everything I do.

“Through counselling, I found my strength, my voice, and ultimately, my way out.”

I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor with the Haven Survivors of Abuse network in Essex, providing specialist support to people in exactly these situations.

What abuse counselling looks like

There’s no fixed agenda and no pressure to talk about anything you’re not ready for. Over time, many clients begin to:

  • Reconnect with their own sense of worth and identity
  • Understand the patterns that kept them stuck
  • Process the feelings of shame, guilt, and confusion
  • Build clearer, healthier relationships going forward
  • Trust their own perceptions and feelings again

Sessions are available in person in Epping, Essex, or online via Zoom. Find out more about how we work together or view fees and session information. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is also available 24/7 if you need immediate support.
