About Me

Lynda Dorbin — BACP counsellor in Epping.
And why I do this work.

Lynda Dorbin — BACP registered counsellor in Epping Essex

Hi, I’m Lynda.

Life experience has taught me that struggles can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. Having faced my own challenges, I understand what it feels like to feel stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or trapped in situations that seem impossible to change. I know what it’s like to stay in a marriage out of fear, shame, and concern for those around you, and how emotional abuse can slowly erode your confidence and leave you questioning yourself.

As a counsellor, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be truly heard. Whether you are struggling with relationships, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss, or simply feeling lost in life, I will work alongside you to help you make sense of your experiences, find your strengths, and create positive change. I am passionate about helping people feel better about themselves and supporting them to live happier, more fulfilling lives.

“Through counselling, I found my strength, my voice, and ultimately, my way out. Inspired by the impact counselling had on my own life, I knew I wanted to pay it forward.”

In addition to running my private practice as a person-centred counsellor in Epping, I’m proud to have been part of the Haven Survivors of Abuse network, where I offered support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. And to further hone my skills, I’ve trained at St Joseph’s Hospice, where I now serve as a member of the bereavement counselling team. The satisfaction of helping others navigate through their own struggles is amazing. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

“People know themselves better than anyone else.
They may just need some help to understand.”
